  • ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper, adjust for heat tolerance

  • Flaky Sea Salt

Method

Tap the time in each step to start a build-in timer and cook with a little more ease and flow. Be sure to have your volume up to hear the timer chimes!
    1. Melt the Chocolate:
Gently melt the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler method). Stir until smooth and glossy.
🌾Mindful Moment: As the chocolate softens and turns glossy, pause to watch the transformation. Let your breath follow the flow.
💬 Kid Prompt: “What does it look like — lava, a river, a galaxy?”
    2. Add the Magic:
Remove from the heat and stir in the cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla, and sea salt. Mix well to fully incorporate.
🌾Mindful Moment: Smell the spices as they mix in. Close your eyes — where do they land in your body? In your heart? Your chest? Your fingertips?
💬 Kid Prompt: “What do you smell? Where in your body can you feel the warmth?”
    3. Spread and Swirl:
Pour the melted chocolate onto a parchment-lined tray. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to gently spread into a ¼-inch thick layer.
🌾Mindful Moment: As you spread the chocolate, notice the movement — slow, smooth, and silky. Let it be like painting.
💬 Kid Prompt: “Can you imagine this as a landscape — a mountain, a wave, a quiet night?”
    4. Decorate with Delight:
Sprinkle on your toppings! Let the kids take charge of the sprinkle station.
💬 Prompt: “Can you make a pattern or picture with your toppings?” Or “If the toppings were stars, what kind of sky are you making?”
    5. Chill and Crack:
Place in the fridge for 30–45 minutes until set. Once firm, break into rustic pieces and enjoy!
🌾 Mindful Moment: As the bark sets, take a pause. Maybe sit with a warm drink. When ready to break it, listen to the sound — the crack, the snap. Satisfaction in every shard.
💬 Prompt: “Which piece looks the most magical to you?”
