    1. Dry & Ready:

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then pat them thoroughly dry with a clean towel.
Remove any loose skins if desired.
🌿 Mindful Moment: Feel the chickpeas through the towel as you gently roll them dry. Notice their round shapes, smooth surfaces, and the soft sound they make as they move together.
🧒 Kid Prompt: “What do the chickpeas look like? Marbles, pearls, tiny moons, or little suns?”
💬 Reflective Prompt: “What do you notice when you slow down and pay attention to something simple?”
    2. Coat with Care:

Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl.
Add in the olive oil, cinnamon, sweetener (if using), and a small pinch of salt. Or any other desired toppings.
      Toss gently until evenly coated.
🌿 Mindful Moment: Notice the cinnamon aroma as it meets the chickpeas. Watch the ingredients tumble together and observe how the chickpeas gradually become evenly coated.
🧒 Kid Prompt: “Can you gently roll the chickpeas around the bowl? What sound do they make?”
💬 Reflective Prompt: “What does the cinnamon smell remind you of, cookies, autumn, warmth, or somewhere familiar?”
    3. Roast to Crisp:

Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a lined baking sheet, either parchment paper or silicon mat.
Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 25 to 30 minutes, gently shaking the pan halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Safety Note: An adult should manage the hot oven, baking sheet, and shaking of the pan.
🌿 Mindful Moment: As the chickpeas roast, notice the warm cinnamon aroma filling the kitchen. Listen for subtle popping or crackling and observe how the smell changes with time.
🧒 Kid Prompt: “What do you think is happening to the chickpeas while they roast?”
💬 Reflective Prompt: “What helps you stay patient when something needs time?”
    4. Cool & Crunch:

Remove the chickpeas from the oven and allow them to cool slightly on the baking sheet. They will become crispier as they rest.
🌿 Mindful Moment: Notice that the chickpeas continue changing even after leaving the oven. Listen carefully as you take your first cooled bite and notice the sound and sensation of the crunch.
🧒 Kid Prompt: “What does the crunch sound like? Tiny footsteps, leaves, popcorn, or something else?”
💬 Reflective Prompt: “What can waiting just a little longer sometimes give us?”
